Xaviera Hollander is a fascinating character. She quit her job as a secretary at the Dutch consulate in New York City in 1968 and became a call girl earning $1,000 a night and the madam of her own brothel the Vertical Whorehouse. She was arrested for prostitution in 1971 & eventually forced to leave the country. Her 1972 memoir “The Happy Hooker” was a runaway success. Though it was based on recorded interviews in which she described her day to day life as a sex worker, it was actually ghostwritten by another woman, Yvonne Dunleavy.
This book, “Xaviera!” is one of several sequels. Published in 1973, fourth printing. Condition is fair with some edgewear and creasing and fading to the spine. Remainder mark on fore edge.
